Hello,
I have my CDL, with 3 months of solo experience driving refrigerated (roughly 25,000 miles) with 7 weeks of OTR training before that.. all through a nationally based, well known company.
I am considering switching to Prime for a Wal Mart Dedicated job, and am just wondering what I could expect.
I assume that I would need to go through training to acclimate myself with Prime's systems & culture, I'm more curious/concerned about going out with a trainer for an extended length of time.. which would almost be a step backwards for me.
Any info would be appreciated!
Considering switching from another company

I literally just got here, but I will say I have met a lot of people that are doing just that.

Only a recruiter would know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if you had to do around 15k out with a trainer before being given your own truck.
I am on one of the WM dedicated accounts, which one are you wanting to work out of? -
I'm hoping to get into the Shelbyville WM.Chucktshoes Thanks this.

Well, c'mon down. It won't be any problem getting attached to this account. It can be hard for OTR folks to get used to what we do here so most go back out on the road after a while. Personally, I love it and think it is a blast.

I plan on talking to a recruiter when I'm on home time this week.. The roughest part would be getting someplace to live near enough.. Along with the training.. I read in other threads that there are trainers based on that account, so training there while getting settled wouldn't be a horrible proposition.
Thanks! -
There are instructors here, but that is for the portion of training to get the student their license. We don't have any that do the portion you might need out of here as it just doesn't work for the way we run. If you have to do any TNT miles, they will be OTR as a team operation.

Been with Prime about 8 months. Thinking about dedicated out of Olney Ill. Any info would be great, pay, how often you get home, anything
