In trucking you're limited to 70 hrs. in 8 days. Some/many of us don't bat an eye at those hours. Would it be worth it to "take home" over a thousand a week?
There's one job in Raleigh that requires 24 months experience and it's a team operation and each driver makes over $100K per year. That's just something to think about for the future, should you decide to change careers.

I'll point out that most good companies can burn up your 70 in 6 days and let you reset on the seventh, giving you 70 hours in seven days or so.

Here's some companies you can research if you decide to change careers full time. Hair follicle drug test for tanker outfits.
These hire new cdl grads and most have tuition reimbursement where they pay your cdl school tuition back to you in monthly installments.

Thank you guys for all this great information.

My game plan now is to keep working where I'm at. I can't quit just yet. I have to keep roof over my head and pay bills. I plan on enrolling in part time driving school in nearby CC College. This will take a few months but it will allow me to study the industry more and figure out what my next move will be. Plus this way I won't get stuck to a particular company.

I appreciate all your help. I will give an update in due time.
