I am filing a claim on a bond and the wording on the paperwork is causing me to hesitate. Under the Load Information section there is a line asking for Consignor information and a separate line asking for Shipper information. Would these lines not be the same thing?

Shipper is where you picked up. Cosignee is who took in the Freight. Usually where you delivered.

yes, true, but that is not what he asked....LOL

yes OP its the same thing

The consignor, in a contract of carriage, is the person sending a shipment to be delivered whether by land, sea or air. Some carriers, such as national postal entities, use the term "sender" or "shipper" but in the event of a legal dispute the proper and technical term "consignor" will generally be used.

Consignor/consignee are different. Consignee is normally the receiver. The consignor could be the shipper, but depends on the shipper also being the manufacturer such as Ashley furniture that makes their own product and then ships it VS. a broker who buys truckloads of Campbells soup and then sells them to someone.

The consignor isn't always the shipper. It's common for steel mills to sell product they don't have, consign (transfer ownership/sell) it to their customer (the consignee) through a slitter/warehouse/another mill (the shipper/point of origin) to be delivered to their customer (the consignee). This is why it's common to see different fields for "sold to" and "ship to" on shipper generated BOLs.

    Alright. Thanks everyone.

We had a check returned against one of our clients. The debtor is Bugle Logistics (Kith C Miller). I contacted Bugle first, and they gave an explanation of someone hacking their account and draining it. I'm sure the bond is dry by now, but filing anyways.
