Does anyone know how “hand built” w9 s from the mid 80s are?
I ask because I’m still working on rebuilding mine and have noticed that all of the frame bolt holes for the cross members and pretty much everything but the suspension seem to have been drilled by hand…or at least that’s my conclusion based on there random inaccuracy.

You sure they aren't just wallowed out a little from age?

    W923 Thanks this.

Not at all. still a nice drill finish and good fit with a 1/2 inch transfer punch….they’re just off by as much as an 1/8 inch which I believe is part of why the crossmembers have had so much trouble staying together

If they’re not wallered out, then waller them out and use a bigger bolt.

    W923 and kylefitzy Thank this.

Wouldn’t the VIN let you know if it was hand(Custom) built?

    W923 Thanks this.

We’re any of the early B models made with aluminum frame?

    Oxbow and W923 Thank this.

I made a drill guide for the mag drill and took them to 5/8 instead of 12mm and then did all the crossmember brackets on the mill to match.

    mile marker 27 Thanks this.
