On my Georgia Oversize permit for containerized freight, it says intrastate.

That's because it is only good in that state.

I have a state only tag. I'm a intrastate driver that hauls containers. And most of our loads never cross state lines.

If it's a container it probably already crossed a state line on the rail. Is the shipper in the same state?

Yes. Get them out of savannah and take them somewhere or the rails in Atlanta.

Then by definition you are probably an interstate driver because:
    (a) If you are taking them to the rail in Atlanta more than likely they are going out of state.
    (b) If you are picking up containers at the port in Savannah (unless the product is made there) then can has crossed state lines.

    RickG Thanks this.

What is the location of the shipper on the BOL? Where was the container loaded?

I have to disagree slightly. If a product come out of state to a DC , is put in inventory , then loaded to go to a store in the same state the delivery to the store would be intrastate. The DC was the consignee on the interstate move.

    rockee Thanks this.

Most container loads originate at a seaport.
