I have a 40 foot container going into a cold storage facility in VA. Does anyone know the going rates to unload 20 and 40 ft containers.

every container i have ever hauled 4 yrs now i have never been charged a lumper fee even at food warehouses and cold storages. the lumper fee is worked into the price of the load by the shipping co ie, hapag lloyd, evergreen, maersk. if there is a fee just get a comcheck from your co to pay it.

Loose cartons/floor loaded at a cold storage runs $150-$300. Really depends on case count and box size. Used to be it was based on cents per case, but now it is more based on amount of time it will take.
With the advent of Lumper companies instead of independent, you find some guy on the street to do it, the use of prepaid unloading has grown to be more the normal. -
I figure the Chinese illegal immigrants inside will unload themselves.
