I have exacted my research I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking to convert my fifth wheel air kingpin release valve in cab to hand pull and use existing pluming to get air bags dump I understand I need level valve with dump and a switch in the truck but as far as fifth wheel do I need to remove air cilinder or leave everything as is and just use the air line connect it to dump and install switch in cab the picture is the one I have installed right now the other pic are the things I need is there anything else I need

I thank you have to buy a different plate. Call a Holland dealer with the numbers off your plate. Ask them to call you back as it could take awhile.

Interesting. I didn’t know that technology existed. All the trucks I have used had a pull handle on the 5th wheel to release the kingpin. Maybe I’m not understanding.

The truck has one but I can't pull it cuz it's locked with air cylinder I have to drain the air or pull valve in cab when parking brake is set

What is the reason you want to make this change? Is it because you are constantly having trouble making the 5th wheel pull handle work? Every so often, my handle doesn’t want to pull. It’s as if it were stuck. What I do is drive forward and reverse a few times. This always works. Sometimes it takes me a couple minutes to get it to work.

I only saw them on yard dogs. Step out the back door and unhook the red glad hand. Lower the hydraulic 5th wheel. Push the air release 5th wheel latch knob and go catch the next one.

Personally it's a stupid set up I think it's for lazy driver no offense but I rather have hand pull with no air cylinder and airbags dump then this thing the reason why I want it hand pull manually and have airbag dump is few times I had trouble dropping the trailer what I mean kingpin was unlocked but I could drop trailer it seemed like the top plate welded to bottom trailer I would have that problem if I just simply push the button air bags deflate and drop the trailer

Same with my last trailer. It had air release sliding pins. I thought it was great at first. But over time it caused more headache than convenience.

I set the trailer park brake and ease the truck back to take out the slack. Then pull the tractor park valve. That relieves any pressure so the handle can be pulled.spsauerland and PE_T Thank this.

The air release is not the problem it releases the handle fine the problem is sometimes I can unhook the trailer it seemed like the plate and trailer bottom are welded together no matter what I do drive back or forward nothing happens
