I am hoping to put a 14L in the place of a 12.7.
I need to change out the oil pick up and oil pan to put this into a W900. I am thinking I will need a wiring harness from the ecm to the truck. I’m sure I can have that made. The water, fuel, air and anything else I can handle. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

That would be a dang good idea! Taking out a 1993 Series60 DDECII. I plan on putting in a 2005 or 2007 14L Detroit. I need to find out if they are IV or V. I’m not familiar with all the years and versions of Detroit. I have another thread asking which of these 2 engines to buy. If my ph. number would help I will gladly provide it

    So those 14l are ddec5.

You'll need the truck side wiring harness to go with them . Also a good schematic for the wiring also as you'll need to tie that all in to truck side.
Those engines have the vgt turbo and egr also. You'll need the vpod controller to run that style turbo. If it was mine I would do a custom program and let that stuff fall off the engine.

I'm not sure on the oil pan and pickup, you might need those parts from a ddec5. Not positive on that thou, only one way to find out.

Those 14L ddec5 are good engines with the right parts.

I got a response from Mawk Industries on a wiring harness. No plug and play because of the antique DDECII. Good idea though. Get a truck harness and fit it to my truck. I’m thinking more work but cheaper

Something may not be kosher. The 2005 definitely doesn’t have a vgt turboo. I’ll have bunch of questions for Detroit.

Yes . A borgwarner 171702. These work great up to 600hp. I'd suggest putting a new manifold on at same time.
Bully dog make a very good one. Get the one for a ddec4 , it wont have provisions for egr on it.

I looked at a friend’s truck last night. 2005 14L It doesn’t have a vgt turbo. He bought it used so he really doesn’t know what all has been done ot it. Engine s/n 06R0785025 Family 6067HVC Which turbo should be on an 05? Vgt or the regular style. I need I need to ask Detroit so I will know when looking for an engine
