    Ugh, I really don't know what to do. I hate the thought of agreeing to work for a company for 6 months in a place I don't want to be, but I also need a job.

    Sounds like you need a road trip and have face-to-face visits with every employer with a truck in the area. Remember, too, that Con-way Freight and Con-way Truckload really are two different companies. Freight is LTL and unionized, Truckload is OTR and not. Moving from Truckload to Freight is like changing jobs. But it's a great company; with your Teamster background, you might have a leg up on the competition.
