Reading on other boards that a lot of the CWF long solo Linehaul runs are going to be cut down...

Any time you have this type of a change at the top, everybody gets nervous as hell. And with good reason! However, I'd be surprised if it will negatively affect the drivers. It will eventually affect them of course, but it just might be more positive than negative.
Management, OTOH, may well be sweating bullets, and for a good reason. The higher up you go in a company, the more your job is at risk when there is a corporate change over.
If I was a driver working for Conway, I would not be particularly concerned, I'd just sit back and see what happens. It is going to be interesting. . .That girl rocks, Pintlehook, jakebrake12 and 3 others Thank this. -
having worked for American Freightways when it was bought out by FeEx, I can tell you the outcomes for the employees probably won't be positive. They mentioned several times how much money they plan on dropping to the bottom line from the Conway operation. My guess is that the office staff in the local centers will have the most to loose on the front end (if anyone remembers what happened to them in the Yellow / Roadway merger), then the operations staff, then the drivers.
looks a lot like bad juju to mehdcut, inandoutoftrouble and Shaggy Thank this. -

well, Upnorth and Don, what does the following phrase mean to you?
- XPO expects to increase annual operating profit from the acquired operations by $170 million to $210 million through cost savings and operational improvements executed over the next two years

Plus, if they stopped this lean B.S., they can save a ton of cash too.hdcut, inandoutoftrouble, Shaggy and 1 other person Thank this. -
rumor has it that XPO wanted the Menlo business a couple of years ago......and Conway said, "No".
Now, what if Conway said, all or nothing?
And then XPO said, if you monkeys can get on the "Lean" train, we'll look at it in a couple of years.
And then, Conway started the "lean" program.......coincidentally, about 2 years ago.........
Just pure, stupid truckdriver banter and speculation.......but it does give one pause....hdcut and inandoutoftrouble Thank this. -
3 billion?! Maybe, i'm thinking Conway is much larger. Seems like a mercy sell out. "wheeeeeeeew some one bought us harold, that was close ! "
