Compared to JB Hunt, it could only be an improvement.

Starting wage up your way is 18 something an hour and low.40's per mile - .41 or .42 - something like that. Right now it tops out at a little over 23 and a half an hour and .555 a mile - takes 5 years to get there in your region though. Total hours and what hours you work when you're new varies so much terminal to terminal depending on what they have for line-haul runs and service territory. It's all seniority based so you don't have many choices at first, but even 2 or 3 people under you can help a lot - that can be enough to have your choice of nights vs days.

Expect shorter runs, a lot of dock work, and the older trucks at first, but in time you can make a lot of money here and overall it's a fairly easy job. You're home daily and off weekends - you may have some Saturday work here and there but normally senior drivers take most of that.

Yeah it is - took me 5 years but now I'm at a terminal where it takes 3 - go figure. IMO, the 5 year thing needs to be addressed and brought down to 3 everywhere or at least down to three for those with previous LTL experience.
