Relay finally arrived and the driver decided he didnt have to get the lights fixed that were all messed up on the trailer that he brought me....Unbelievable. So I had to spend the next 3 hours in the shop getting them fixed while he went and picked up his next load...Nice!!

###### what was wrong with them that needed 3 hours, and did you call it in to report the driver?
-
They were completely jerry rigged with external wires(they should run through the bulkhead). They were ripped off one light and just hanging across the front of the trailer, I couldnt believe he was giving me this trailer in this condition..knowing I was running across Tennessee at night. And Heck yeah I reported him, big time. Every dispatcher in Joplin and W Memphis knows as well as road service.
YardDart and lonewolf4ad Thank this. -
That happened to me on more than one occasion. Happened par Thud. I had to relay a load with a driver so while he drives on with miles. I have to take tel to a shop and drop it. Then spend the next 4 hours going to different locations trying to find an empty. Got to a Conway freight and every tel load trailer was leaking. I called road service and gave them all the tel numbers and what was wrong. I just wonder if they sent someone out to fix them?

Between lights and ABS issues when drivers relay messed up trailers I don't know why they are not given service failures and written up. I asked dispatch and yet said its because they get it to you and it still gets delivered so I've now gotten in the habit of making sure repairs take awhile and stating that is the 1 and only reason in late. I also have tried numerous times to turn down relays because of this but am told I get a service failure if I don't take it.
This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine and irks me to no end. Seems their should be something operations can do about this. -
In one week alone I have taken several trailers to the shop. All but one was in so bad a shape that I had to drop the trailer. After handing off the relay. I had to drop trailer at shop the went to a freight yard and all the empties had leaks. Called road service and they actually wanted me to take a trailer to the shop. I asked what pay will I very was told only the miles to the shop. I told them I'm not taking them and waited for a few hours till one became avalable. It makes me so mad operations know who dropped the trailers. Enough of my frustrating rambling. Other than trailers i really like Conway

Well after a couple of hours of talking to different folks at W memphis and Joplin hopefully the situation is being handled(at least with this one guy). So I feel a little better about it. Now headed for the wonderful state of MD.

Had yet another eventful day or should day night. Going on I-5. In Oregon side just before going into Calf. Its raining and half way up the mountain it pours down the snow. Even when the snow plows would go by it would be totally covered again in 30 seconds. No one had chains on as you can imagine even though roads were covers every truck goes right on up the mountain all but one. Care to guess? Your right my Con-Way Super Single TAG AXLE TRUCK. It took almost an hour to go less than two miles. I'be been around the world more than once and I've never seen that much snow that fast. Anyway Nite all.
