That tire is on the tractor, and that is usually what you see just before the cap comes off and you lose the tire.....Service got that pic and said it is fine.....yes, the tread depth is still good. I couldnt believe they denied me getting a new tire. I would never say that I am an expert on tires, but this tire sure dont look safe to me. I have 43000 in the box and heading into the mountains, not really comfortable with the whole situation.

I called road service and they denied my request.
I called back after shifts changed and they denied me again.
I called safety and told them I didn't feel safe driving on those tires to Seattle and asked what to do. (I also sent him pics)
Safety told me to call road service 1 more time and request that they at least let me have the tires looked at. He said if they still said no to tell them I would be calling Randy Cornell on Monday morning (unfortunately it was the weekend).
The road service guy I got that time (after I told him that last part) told me the location of the closest Love's with a tire shop and told me to have them call "if" the shop thought my tires needed replacing.
Of course being in the mood I was in I told him "Ok, I will have them call WHEN they see how bad these tires are so that you can authorize their replacement."
When I got to the Love's the guy said that all 4 were awful and all needed to be replaced.
He called Con-way and I spent the next 2 hours getting all 4 of my drives replaced but at least then I felt safe going into the northwest.
I would say call safety. Anytime you don't feel safe with a situation Safety is who to call. They have to fight dispatchers who try and push loads on you and road service people who want you to drive with violations all the time unfortunately and if there really is a safety concern (which from the picture I think you're right about that) then they will back you up. -
