Check your chains, they've already started winter out West. But then I've already been seen the sputering of flakes in Co, and Vt in the last weeks.

Whatever size the flatbedder parked next to has that you can grab and run with.Make sure (if you have chain hangers especially), that you still have the cam lock tool.Personally, I'm not the chain up and run type.I'll do it if I have to, to get myself out of a jam, or to a place to park. But nothing else make sure your equipped and ready, even if not intending to use rhem.I chained up twice last winter, both times just to make sure I could pull out of slanted loading docks. Can't imagine going through a winter with one of those tag axle trucks. Those tag axle trucks should be equipped with those auto chains.

I guess my fm doesn't understand how split sleeper berth works. I only used 4.5 hours on duty yesterday leaving me with 6.5 on my 11 and 8.5 on the 14. After 8 hrs in the sleeper I was able to roll today....but no. Stay there and wait for the 11? This is stupid. I could get the dead head 70 mile run knocked out, throw myself in off duty during loading for 2 hrs then have a full 11 to run the 457 to the final cosignee. That would put me back on the board tonight with enough hrs to dispatch me. I'm telling her what time I will arrive, so it could actually be a pre plan. Hello! Shouldn't they be fully aware of how the sleeper berth exception works? Doing it in the situation I am in right now would actually allow me to catch up on a few hundred miles.
