Taking a break in Joplin, then off to Laredo. Started the week in Waverly then up through IA and down to Laredo. Hoppefully the week keeps me moving.

No fine could have been given. Know your trips and plan ahead. Trucks were banned from interstates nothing prevented drivers from running to Rt-8 up to MA, Rt-3 to RI, or RT-7 to NY. I ran RT-8 to I-90 in MA after taking some random surface streets. Ended up 48 mi under dispatched mileage too. Also that route had me running straight up away from the coastline and into the protection from wind that the Berkshire mountains provided.

reason #1121 I love running regional; when #### hits the fan you know where to run and hide

Heading home after MT. Volunteered to run relief loads into storm effected areas BUT here at con-way if it didn't happen in Joplin then it didn't happen. Got told there are no runs doing that as no new supplies are needed. Well, 3 hrs home. 1 hr loading another companies truck with water, load 3 trucks 50/50 with milk and eggs, Then back to truck loaded with water and delivering to NJ/PA area for another company in their truck. Con-way has truly lost all my respect. Like every other trucking company if it doesn't affect the office staff then it doesn't matter. Sincerely hope next disaster that hits Joplin other companies treat it not like the tornado but like Con-way is treating the NE. No help, no water, no food... Just sit trucks idle

That is a sad commentary on so called business practices these days...what happened to just doing the right thing? I understand they can't operate for free but sometimes people should come first, but a perfect world this ain't ....
    Be safe all
