Personal note. I long ago quit going thru Austin. 15 miles further to run toll road. But a lot less hassle and frustration. 80 mph the whole way, in a 65 mph truck.
    Skips thr Alamo too.

Sent back to Waco, then assigned a mon delivery in Houston. Only 2300 miles for the week and to top it off I'm back in East Texas.

Saw a sign: "The sun has riz, the sun has set. Dear god aren't we out of Texas yet?!"

Not that there is really anything wrong with the lonestar state, I just get stir crazy being in one place so long. That and it's difficult to find motivation to walk for the competition when temperature & humidity concurrently exceed 90

On a plus, it doesn't cost driver a dime. No toll booths, snaps a picture of plate and sends bill to cwtl.

That's cool. They don't hassle you for OOR miles?

I'll try it next time I'm running solar powered through that stretch...

Out of route miles?, what are those. ..lol.
No, you keep your OoR less than 8% (I thinl that's the threshold) nobody will hassle you.
Mine are typically on average less than 2 %. What can kill you is those intercity miles that we have zero control of, and I note them in my journal just in case something is ever said.
And of course when they no pay drivers home. I take time at terminals so that has s limited effect.
If your fuel milage drops, them they'll gripe about oor and idling. But then again they didn't order apu's.
