I appreciate being able to eavesdrop on your posts and follow everyone on their runs. I'm 90% decided on Conway Truckload as my starter OTR company but I do not notice many mentions of anyone coming through my area. When I'm driving around the Slidell, LA area on I-10, 12 and 59 I rarely see a Conway truck. Should I be concerned about that as far as getting home easily every couple of months? And let me know when any of you are passing through...I'll buy you some coffee and pick your brain. Thanks!

agreed -- I've passed through that area quite a few times going to/from Laredo.

Chemult, OR for the night. previous relay from sacramento to portland got botched when driver 1 ran out of hours 200 miles short, requiring me to go get it & pass it off in sacramento -- effectively turning a 600 mile day (that I sat 24 hours to get) into a 400 mile day :( Now on a relay to Tacoma, but with 20 extra hours before delivery apt I decided to "detour" from I5 to 97/58. According to the gps its actually a couple miles shorter than i5 and since the speed limit is 55 regardless I haven't lost any time so far in exchange for the new scenery. Definitely more mountainous however, so I wouldn't recommend it for heavy loads... Sure is nice to park overnight with open windows & a fresh pine-scented breeze though.

I feel for you -- I've been idling up a storm the last month & a 1/2, so I'm definitely going to enjoy the 49F overnight low while I can

Provo Utah. 3 card monte game behind my trailer. Should I play. ..looks easy. Couple people won. ..Let me count my money. ..
Jeez, I thought those games were long gone. But guess they were forgot about. But making a come back.
Seen one on Oklahoma turnpike not to long ago.
After it was reported, manager broke it up, scattered like rats that they are.
Wished LEO would have nabbed them.

Thanks guys for the good info. I've been following all of the Conway threads and this one is the most positive and the most informative thanks to you two and the other regulars. Gives a good sense of the day-to-day. Thanks again!

Bummer. Sounded like a good deal on paper.
Just spotting and shuttling trailerz, dog food, right?
If there openings, others don't find it such a good deal either?
