Oh ...forgot to share my first sight leaving the ft lauderdale airport on the I-595 detour was three CFI trailers parted out on the street in front of the KW dealer.... I thought it was funny at the time
they should report those # on the morning report ...how many trk's are down & out -
would be too depressing for the morning report...
Back in Joplin -- Was hailed on the cb 65 miles down the road because that stupid little airfoil on the top & back of the trailer is loose, and road service sent me back to Joplin rather than continue on to Springfield. Hope these 130 oor miles are paid...
Here is the piece I'm talking about. Apparently the one being installed is a new design because the old ones have a habbit of breaking off in the wind... I'd hate to be the texting 4-wheeler who looks up to see a broken wing flying at him! This went through the inspection bay twice in addition to 3 pti's from me. You can't tell anything is wrong from the ground -- another good reason to have a cb.
The leading edge is just held down by silicone. When it degrades over time/truckwashes/snow the lip catches air and eventually breaks the internal supports.
I'm all for saving mpg, but I hate the idea of something known to fail located where I can't inspect. And according to the mechanics, they aren't allowed to replace the defective units proactively -- only after they have failed.Last edited: Aug 18, 2013

Got lucky last night when we showed up at the Goodrich plant in Tuscaloosa,AL was suppose to deliver at 7am but receiving guy said nope go ahead and drop it, so now we're headed to Moody,AL to grab a load and take it to Conway yard in Charlotte,NC for relay, the load is going to Quebec, hoping that the load is ready to go and won't have to wait till 6pm tonight to pick up.
