Said not to pick up early. Picked up the night before on last one. Drop and hook.
went in just to see they needed a trailer to load.
It's just down street from CWF if I recall correctly.
Don't get off there truck route. They seem to be serious about that.
Or it could be an entirely different place I'm thinking of.
I'd have to consult my journal.Last edited: Jan 14, 2014

I have been in contact with Con-Way Truckload recruiting and am setting up a date for orientation in Joplin on the 20th of this month. I was sent an email from my recruiter letting me know there would be a "Drivecam" installed in my truck when I am done with training for the first 4-6 months that I am with the company. I've read a lot on them across different companies and the dual lens facing out of the truck as well as inside the truck and including sound recording may be a bit much for me. The last I had heard the only cam's that Conway were using were units that drivers had volunteered to test. Has anyone else heard of this for rookie drivers with Con-Way TL? I am also wondering if after the 4-6 month period, will they be pulling it back out or if it will turn into a full time thing. Thanks for any info, stay safe.

geeze people, we're halfway through January -- can we stop complaining about the free money Conway gave us for Christmas already? You're not going to get a $1,000 bonus in a company with 20,000 employees.
And I can't see them installing the system on a truck and then removing it later. I bet once it is on, it's on until they trade in the truck. Maybe they'll assign you a new truck at 4-6 months, but I still don't like it and wouldn't accept it. -
paul_4lp and double yellow Thank this.

Yes from everything I have read and researched and the email that I received from the recruiter the cameras do not exactly function the way a lot of people think. Basically they are always on and recording a never ending loop of footage. This footage is overwritten very quickly so nothing is ever saved. The trigger for the loop to actually record and save is what they call a critical event. Anything from sharp turns, hard breaking events, etc. Some have reported large bumps to set the cameras off. Basically when an "event" happens the camera will save the 8 seconds prior to the event and 4 seconds after along with sound. Like I said the camera faces out to the road as well as on the driver. The clip then is supposedly sent to the drivecam company where they review it and decide whether to send to your company. I totally agree with a forward facing cam but am not a fan of anything on the driver. Even if they are only triggered " during an event". Just my opinion and may actually decide to look elsewhere because of it.
