cooking in the truck

Hi, I'm new to the board, been trucking for about two years now. On the subject of the coleman 40qt, I bought mine at Walmart, and they offered an extended warranty for (I think) $5. I jumped at that, as I'd heard these units don't last that long. Well, needless to say, I"ve had two new coolers in the last two years. They seem to crap out just prior to a full year, running them the way I do. Both times, they have given me a new cooler, and extended the warranty period. --Just a thought.

I wholeheartedly agree! I spent many years selling electronics and part of that was extended warranties. Most time I'd say that you'll never need it, but in the case of these coolers (the do burn out ... fan, cord, thermocouple, etc...) and trucking you definitely should get the extended warranty. You WILL need it if you use this thing everyday like I did.

 

Ok Folks,

I'd just like to clarify one point. Propane tanks are illegal on a truck. Does that include the smaller ones like used on a lantern ? Or even the really small ones, that are about 4 inches tall ?

It's sure nice to have a flame to cook on.

I did not know that,but,I don't doubt it..We,(I) were talking about a Butane flame though..

they are NOT illegal, there are Drivers with BIG 100+gallon Propane tanks running Propane injection in there trucks.....No permits needed.

so yes you can use the small bottles for grills and little stoves etc
