I really hate trying to clean dishes in my truck so everything I eat is disposable. When I am at home I try to cook everything.

I use a portable butane stove and nonstick pots and pans, pretty much you can cook anything out on the road you would at home as long as you have time for it, my butane stove actually cooks much hotter and faster. Eventually I plan to get a slow cooker and a 12v oven. As for being a vegan count me out, I love my meats way too much. I used to be an executive chef but I was stubborn and didnt do much towards the vegans, only made a few items.

I thought about doing vids myself when I first started trucking but I never got myself to get around to it, normally im too tired and dont have the patience lately.

Wolfyinc, I would assume you do most if not all cooking outside your cab if using a butane stove. How do you set it up? A small portable stand? How do you clean your pots and pans? I have never been a chef, but I am a good cook, and if I can have a stove, I will eat healthy, well, and inexpensively.

well it depends, I cook inside the cab sometimes, I have a tray that pops out a couple feet meant for a "workstation" and I just open all the windows and plug my fan in so it plenty of air gets around. A lot of times I stop at rest areas and you can always use the picnic tables, one other option which I dont have with me is get a tv tray stand and use that outside your truck. Butane isnt as bad to use indoors, I used butane stoves inside places all the time when i did live action stations for customers but I still open my windows.

There was a driver I saw the other night who had a bbq grill and was grilling chicken and all kinds of stuff, some other drivers joined him with cost of beer. I didnt join since I wasnt going to drink then drive in a few hours. I thought about getting a little propane grill too eventually.

I use the burton stoves. They are similar to slow chokers. I have the lunch box style and had the digital type. My digital one burned out on me so I got a small microwave. The only beef I have with my lunchbox one is that it has a center hotspot. I hear people complain about the pans. They are 3 for $2.50 in the truckstop but I tell them to get them from sav-a-lot or walmart for $1. I use that to cook my meat. Was going to get the small toaster oven but opted for the nuker

oh and pots and pans I use the nonstick so I can rinse with water and wipe it out real well, when going to cook again get it nice and hot and it will kill any bacteria that might possibly be there still.

Yes, that will work. Thanks. One other question. Where do you get running water to rinse your pans, or do you just use bottled water?

I prefer to have meat in my diet. However, what I really prefer is to grow as much of my own foods as possible. Or, buy from a farmers market when I can. It's amazing how much better you feel when you can omit chemically processed foods.

I buy bottles and gallons, the gallons I usually use for stuff like cooking, brushing my teeth etc since its cheaper that way. I keep my jugs too and I will fill them up at a terminal or other places I might find and just use the tap water for heating and boiling since sometimes I will heat cans of food up by playing it half covered with water and place the lid on the pot then boil for a few minutes. It took just a little over 5minutes to heat a can of chili this way the other night then I made a frito boat with it, yes very healthy :p
I do buy the 98% fat free chili though.
