I am a new driver and I understand the risks that everyone takes no matter what kind of vehicle that you're in on the highways. I have roughly 3 months OTR experience and have been with two companies. I would like to get a job but every place that I go to wants to put me on the road with a TRAINER :( I have already done this and everyone that rides with me says that I drive just as good as someone who has been driving for 2 years plus. I would like to find somewhere that I can pretty much walk in, do orientation, take my tests and go go go go lol. Thanks.

3 months, 2 otr jobs, and he knows it all. and we wonder why people look down on the industry as a whole. ugh. better do a better job of hiding the superiority attitude when interview time is here. i sure as heck wouldnt hire you.

there is a reason everyone tells new people to stay somewhere for a year get a real resume together
dont look like a job jumper etc
your finding out one of those reasons now

people leave transam everyday for a variety of reasons that is fine the ones that leave after a couple months do not usually call me up and tell me about thier next great job
they tell me about this 1099 contract co job driving an old truck broke down with no dispatch on weekends etc
everything isnt always better without experience on a resume

Two jobs in 3 months and looking again? That isn't a very good track record. If you want to drive a truck for a living, you will need to do what is necessary to get back into the driver's seat. You are still learning. If you can find another carrier who will hire you, I would recommend that you stay with them for a couple of years or so. Some carriers have a maximum of 3 jobs in the last 2 years that they will hire a driver. It may not be what you want to hear, but with only 3 months experience, you have little to offer a company. You may need to go with one of the training companies to get started.

Regardless of how many companies you have worked for in 3 months, your still going to have to go out with a trainer to satisfy the companies insurance requirements BECAUSE you don't have enough experience. You will have to prove yourself all over again. Stay with the next company a little longer this time and you'll be able to go anywhere. :biggrin_1square2:
