What am I looking at rough average for a Head Gasket Replacement if it comes to that
-
No Marine, at the pharmacy.....but that's not the prob. I suspect a broken head bolt allowed a deformed gasket to fail. ( typical cummins)
SO! Tote water and plan to shut it down. Do all the gaskets too , never got to the commode without paper.....Got it?US MARINE Thanks this. -
Dunno......too many varaibles like jakes, broken head bolts etc. If your going in you might as well put recon heads on......
-
Stupid question but what about that ... Tube make a gasket stuff ..
The orange stuff in the tube ...
I know prob stupid but I'm thinking of everything I can -
-
The only real fix is to take it in! Any temporary fix is just that and nothing permanent and you are really just wasting money not fixing it correctly
US MARINE Thanks this. -
No Marine, no orange stuff........guessing out loud, budget $2500 with recon heads and broken bolts....in fact replace them all.
Problem is, I had a small cam cummins and a head bolt went into the water jacket..... that comes from stretched head bolts being retorqued...... but RTV and liquid glass will fix that..... -
Dump enough of that get me by crap in there and you are are going to have bigger problems than you have now. Quit trying to be a cheap sob and take it in and get it fixed before you end up having to buy a complete rebuild.
DodgeFarmBoy, kw9's rock, SL3406 and 1 other person Thank this. -
One piece of puzzle not mentioned - if he is thinking of trading our in next couple Weeks, any quick fix?
US MARINE Thanks this.
