It looks like coolant is traveling through some thick plastic tubes. Do these things have some sort of rubber seals? Has anyone encountered this before? Images below. I have a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia.

Look like corrosion from condensation. I don’t see actual leak Have you seen actual antifreeze?

Thanks. I was able to find a short video on YouTube on how to replace it.

It does leak coolant. I remember smelling coolant while driving, but couldn’t find a coolant leak under the hood. It turned out to be leaking inside my cab.

I wonder what in the world would cause a 5 year old truck to have a bad heater core

It may be because my truck has almost 700k miles. Now, I haven’t verified if it is the heater core, but I’d say it is very likely.

700K miles in 5 years means 140K miles/year. That's a fair amount and stress on the truck. A bad heater core is definitely plausible. I'd replace the heater core if for nothing else, preventative maintenance. It could be clogged, etc.

    Wish you luck!

Thank you for clearing that up for me. You must be a driver. I guess if you look at the time and not the mileage it seems too early but 140k a year is a lot
