Coolant pushed through overflow reservoir (ser 60-14L- DDEC-5)

I can't say anything about timing being off but if you have extra money by Reliabuilt head from Detroit. $1050 for rebuilt injectors? that's not factory rebuilt for sure. Just rebuild done by local shop. Opened, washed. changed the nozzle only )))

 

Factory rebuilt are $2300, but the $1050 ($600 core) are also rebuilt from reputable shop " Vargas Diesel" Santa Fe Springs, CA and have 6 months warranty. He is doing cylinder heads, turbos, cams, crankshafts, cylinder blocks - 30 years experience. The same shop did my cylinder head for $950. New valves, new injector cups, machined and painted

 

I am driving since 1999 and I have done 4 series 60 inframes. 3 times the head was machined in reputable shops in Los Angeles area and i had a problem after 500-550k miles. I had bad valve seals, broken valve seat, broken spring. Last times I bought Reliabulit head. I drove that truck after inframe 720k miles with 0 problem and sold it to Philippine guy. he is still driving it in Texas and the mileage is around 950k now.

 

I understand your point, but I was not prepared to do the overhaul right now. Just wanted to get back on the road and spend not to much money. This guy Vargas offered to sell me: Original injectors $2300, cylinder block machined and checked by Detroit $1800, original detroit head $2390 and original inframe kit and I only god original inframe kit $3480.

If I opted for everything original + labor, it will come close to $19000 - this includes the both crankshaft seals and bell housing seal, that can be done only if the transmission is down. This will take a month to do it and you end up with practically new engine. This motor sure can run 1 mil. miles.

Next year, I am planing to buy another Freightliner 2006-2007 and do "everything original", while I am working with my other truck. This way, I am not going to drain my bank account, which is the case now

 

So what happened mine is doing the same. no smoke no oil water mix idles fine ???
