I'm kind of a new truck driver and the truck I've been assigned has one of those idle control things that shuts the truck off a lot. I was wondering if it would be worth getting a cooler or if it is a pain to keep managing the truck power and the cooler so that I can have cold food.

Basically I'm concerned about the truck shutting itself down with the cooler still running and then killing the battery.

Many of the newer fleet trucks are spec'd with a sensor that'll shut off the power when the battery voltage gets to a certain voltage. This will stop the drainage before the voltage gets to low to start the truck.

You might check with aother driver or mechanic that knows your truck.
