Warning Tickets Explained! – CDL Legal

Note: 4) Can I fight a Warning Ticket?
A: No. Since the Warning Ticket does not go to court, there is no way to fight to get it reduced or dismissed. This is only a problem when a Warning Ticket is written with a matching Inspection Report.

Where are the signs? I checked last night and didn’t see one of them.

I think you’re in the clear. You made a note with your Company. Noted that you almost got a moving violation. Local Cop, no DOT inspection. Warning? What warning? At least they were fair about it, instead of using it as a revenue source.

Where did you get off of I-95, at the Perryville exit?
My Brother-in-Law works at that Ikea distribution center loading trucks. Pay is not the greatest, but he has awesome benefits. Been there like 6 years and has 4- or 5-weeks' vacation plus sick time and gets to choose his holidays. Also pays a fraction what I pay for health insurance.

I get off the exit for route 222 to 40 and hang a left then take the next right for coudon rd being that is the truck route into there.

There is one straight ahead coming down 222 at the US40 intersection looking straight ahead. I just figured no trucks on that route 7 too since my truck gps routes around it. I was thinking he came down 222 off 95 and kept going straight instead of turning onto 40 to get to that GE warehouse.

No you don't need to report it. As a retired local 28 year local.PD officer our warnings just went in our local database and nowhere else...if that.. Most local officers don't fool with DOT things. I wouldn't worry about it at all..

I don't really see why you would use Route 7 to get to that warehouse unless he was coming from the West and the GPS routes you around so you are coming West bound to the intersection.

I was thinking maybe he was coming from Baltimore and got off 95 in Harford County to avoid the scale on 95 and used Route 7 as a short cut to get to Route 40 then it would make more sense.

You made a mistake. Drivers go down illegal roads all the time. If you had tore up some stuff that would have been a different story. You need to invest in an up-to-date trucker atlas. The GPS isn't always going to steer you right. In the atlas, you can look up roads to see what are truck accessible roads and what aren't. That's part of going the extra mile in trip planning. I don't use a GPS out here on the road because I think it's too distracting. Also, be sure to call ahead if necessary. Many places have a direction or someone who is local and don't mind telling you how to get there. It's better to use Google maps, set to satellite mode, and explore a bit before driving. That'll help you tremendously.

If a $20 Motor Carrier Road Atlas saves you from 1 ticket it has paid for it self. I understand most newbies see that recommendation & hear do something impossible before looking at their phone again.
