Corinna man critical after crash

NORTH JAY A Corinna man was critically injured Monday morning when his truck drove into the side of a tractor trailer rig on Route 133 as he was heading home from his night-shift construction job at the Verso paper mill in Jay.
Adam Bennett, 29, suffered head and internal injuries and was airlifted from the scene by LifeFlight of Maine and taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, police say.
As of Monday afternoon, he was still in surgery, according to the investigating officer, Jay police Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier.
At about 6:20 a.m., Bennett was driving east on Macomber Hill Road and at the intersection with Route 133, his 2000 Dodge pickup hit the side of a northbound 2007 Freightliner in the area of the driver's side door and the fuel tank.
