We have been in a form of warfare since 1 December.

I realized earlier today when dealing with chores that are done weekly, that I have gotten to the point at which I am backing off the horses and pick a pace in a gear to reach the summit in the sweet spot without working too hard or too fast.

Ive gotten used to the idea that this year is a empty page, in a story all of us will write. Good or bad.

I have been working to write nothing but good thoughts or perhaps some funny things thrown in there. I cannot imagine what those are going through as they drown by the hundreds in ICU.

IF were still in the 30's we would have had a crying need for Iron Lungs. from what I understand there are about two or three Lungs still in operation keeping people alive world wide. (A temporary measure vs Polio Damage and other complications that could last years. And some of the machines DID last years.

Scientists have studied seasonal flu for decades. So, despite the danger of it, we know a lot about flu viruses and what to expect each season. In contrast, very little is known about the new coronavirus and the disease it causes, because it's so new. This means COVID-19 is something of a wild card in terms of how far it will spread and how many deaths it will cause.

Why is everything being wiped down. They say the virus can live on some surfaces for what, 3 days. Common flu virus is airborne also.

Unlike seasonal flu, for which there is a vaccine to protect against infection, there is no vaccine for COVID-19

Right. The common flu virus mutates every flu season. Guess what? We are all gonna die of something. Of course we don't want to rush it. But all this hype? Oh well carry news media.

I get it no vaccine. Common flu has a vaccine and people still get the flu, even ones that get the flu shot, get the dang flu. Hope they find a vaccine quicker than not. But it won't be a cure IMO, as viruses change..mutate.

The other interesting thing is that Coronavirus spread through the air, meaning that tiny droplets remaining in the air cause disease to infected others nearby after the ill person is no longer there :)

    Common flu? What is that?
They come up with a new flu vaccine every year to fight the particular strain of that year.

And people still get it even with the vaccine because it is only about 40% effective.
So why even bother with it at all?
Let your natural immune system cope with these things and you will be better off in the long run.
For all we know the vaccine is 0% effective with those numbers. Some of us just have the immune system to fight it better than others.

    Coronavirus won't be any different.
It will mutate and evolve like any other virus.
It will kill some (just like the 'common flu'), but most will build an immunity to it.

That is the same with the cold and flu.
    Someone sneezes and it spreads.
    Nothing interesting there.

But this virus does seem to have a longer lifespan in the open air and on surfaces than most.
