6nz without a doubt, my truck with this motor has 7 years STRONG with NO OVERHAUL.

I just did the rods & mains 2 months ago just to be safe, Detroit motors could'nt even come close to these motors.

Cat are more expensive to repair because it's a better quality motor and last much longer than others, so you actually get your money worth along with better performance.

Then i ended up purchasing a cheap freightliner truck from the auction/Cat C-15 . Driver took it OTR for 17 months and still running strong with absolutely no engine work. My other trucks with Detroit's 60 serious is a whole different story and i don't mean in a positive way either. I have 3 trucks with cat's right now and 2 trucks with Detroit's 60 and another truck with a N14 redtop. And i tell anyone out of these 3 motors, Detroit is 3rd place for me. But hey different strokes for different folk's.

Dude i have 6 trucks and brought and sold many others and I'm all about taking care of all of my equipment. That's how i lasted so many years doing this, Cat is a better quality motor period. Sorry i don't intend to hurt your feelings or others that's Detroit lovers, but best maintenance care on Detroit still will not change that quality.

True enough. My family has owned a dozen or so trucks through out the years. The Series 60 was the least problematic. Aside from needing a jake solenoid every 12-18 months it was a solid performer. The C15 seemed like it needed a turbo every 18-24 months and it snapped a few rocker arms over its life. ISX, well that should require no further explaination lol.

Bean Jr. and kenn2632 Thank this.

I've spent a few years turning wrenches at a Cat dealership. I'm not convinced they are a superior brand. They are just like everything else these days IMO. Maybe back when the 3406B was king I'd sing a different tune.
