Coronavirus - Will drivers have any way to get out of a city quarantine if their not sick?

Hawk.....let's not let good sense and reasonable assumptions ruin the panic........ummmmkay?

 

I just want to go back to the news cycle before this when world war 3 was going to happen. That piqued my interest more than a virus. Hopefully the new crisis next month will be better.

 

right.....this one kinda sucks in a really boring kind of way.
Warm weather is just around the corner. Perhaps we can resurrect the "Death By Mosquito" panic. That one was a lot more interesting.

 

I don't know why I read that to the tune of that one song they sing when you go to a skating ring ...the hokey pokey I think it was calld

 

Influenza has a world wide annual mortality rate of over 5%... Yes in the USA the mortality rate is less than 1%. But you have to look at these type of things on a world wide scale.

 

So people die. Fine so be it.

IF it was me breaking or entering a zone of control with freight or empty in a semi, they are going to have to shoot me. If they catch me getting through.

Truckers I think for a percentage keeps America going. And thats why they will have to shoot me to enforce it. Sick or not. 45000 pounds of wipes would be worth it.

Actually, kinda looking forward to the inevitable Wuhan based zombie movie.

Maybe they'll make a new season of The Walking Dead in China.

 

If you deliver to a city in the morning, but then that city goes into quarantine, you may be stuck in your truck.
If you show up to pick up or deliver and appear sick, it might escalate. Hopefully you wont get forcibly hauled off into an isolation unit.
My wife & I are stocking the truck with several weeks of grocery/water/etc in case we have to isolate somewhere.
Or, if things break down to where the owner has no freight to run us and we deadhead wherever we feel is the best based on the current sitrep.
Until then, we continue to run all 48 and hope for the best, prep for the worst.

 

Here's the big question:
Who pays?
Can I apply for Medicaid if I'm "forcibly detained" in a quarantine?
Maybe my odds are better IN jail then just sitting in a truck somewhere.

 

Don't worry about the tab. I'd avoid detention of any kind. You lose control and freedom. In your truck you can isolate and hopefully ride it out if you get sick. If you do get sick, you can decide how bad it gets before you call 911.
Google "master tonic" and see if you can get to a grocery store to get Braggs raw ACV,garlic,onion, habaneros,horseradish, cayenne.
Also google "cytokine storm" and how to treat that so your own immune response does not kill you.
