In another post you stated you only had a year experience.... Insurance companies will not even look at you until you have at least two years otr.

some companies if you lease on wih them you may be able to get their discount rate. I belive they charge aprox 245.00+ taken out of the settlement checks.
You can also check with some of the nationwide insurance companies for the commercial insurance it might me extremly high for a newbiee.

When asking about something such as insurance, you really need to be more specific. There are many different types of insurance that you may or may not need based upon your operation. So if you want a good answer ( which I can and would provide you with), you really need to give details as to what type of insurance you are reffering to. Are you talking about liability and cargo(You would only need these if running under your own authority),or are you simply talking about physical damage and bobtail(you will need these no matter if running your authority or leasing to a company).

The answer to the second question is; if you lease to a company, they must provide liability insurance as per dot requirements. Your phys.damage and bobtail can usually be bought through them and they will pay it on your behalf but then charge it back to you on your settlement. I personally don't know of any companies that actually provide (at their expense) insurance for YOUR truck, and why would they?
