To be fair, in comparison, you need to add your pay, minus tax liability, and health ins costs, and compare that to Company take home, plus tax refund, minus any health ins premiums paid as a Company Driver. Also it’s worth noting, to clear $70k a yr. as a Company Driver, you’d have to gross about $ 93,000. Equipment costs, residual values or liabilities, if any is a wild card. Only in retrospect after it’s sold, will You know the true gain or loss.

No driver companies around here will let me take 8 weeks at my leisure off a year. I’m sitting at home since yesterday at noon and won’t leave again till Monday (not included in my 8 weeks). I’ll be home over Christmas and New Years too.
ain’t no company I know that’s gonna let that happen.........except mine!
Truck problem? I fix it. I don’t have to beg anyone to put good tires on or led headlights or fix a rattling dash board. I just fix it!!!

I don't believe that many CDL drivers make 70-80K a year effortlessly ... without being OTR and just a few days at home per month. Those who do, work their ### off every day...
Misty60, Rideandrepair and Eldiablo Thank this.
