Depends on how many states you wish to plate it. You can plate it for just TX & that's the only state you may travel. You can plate it for all the lower 48, or anything in between. Each state for which you plate it will cost you more money & the best place to find out is through the State of Texas.

the TX plate is a little over $900

an apportioned plate varies depending on what states you want to run in but an average would be about $1600

if you are going to get plates, get the full apportioned unless you have a solid gig in your state.
texas is a big place with lots of intrastate freight, but why limit your self for just a few bucks more...some day you might want to go to wherever for a paid vacation and it becomes a headache to get permits
