    Nope... With the scale of water the general population needs the only feasible option would be to pipe it in. I've seen water tankers delivering to remote areas in the desert, but I guarantee people pay a huge premium for that style of "off the grid" living. Average US citizen uses around 80-100gallons per day, you'd be talking about a daily truck to every city block.

    I could see heavy investment into coastal desalination plants though.

    I've wondered why there hasn't been more investment in coastal desalination in SoCal.

    The process is very mature these days and the price for desal plants is a fraction of what it cost 20 years ago.

    I used to work with Veolia Water engineers and they speculated it would be common on our west coast mid-century...

    Well it just doesn't desalinate itself....it takes some form of energy to make the process work, which means the consumption of a fossil fuel,which means pollution, which means the libtards would rather be thirsty......nuff said

    Yep Salt water >>>> clean drinking water = a lot of energy.

    California = no power plants.

    I can't think of a better place for nuke power and desalination plants but I am thinking that the first hurdle will not be anything other than the screaming of putting pipes in the ocean to capture the water, too many fishies and other animals might get sucked up into the pumps and die.

    how about this, hauling horse manure to inner cities so that way people can live more self-sustainable lives and plant their own garden.

    It's already been tried, but what they are hauling is more commonly known as "politics".

    i wouldn't worry too much about the water crisis in Cali.

    the big earth quake some day, and it'll be all in the ocean.

    no more water worries.

    This. They don't want nuclear power because of Chernobyl. They don't want wind power because birds get chopped up by the blades. They now don't want solar power because what birds don't get chopped up by the windmills get cooked by solar furnaces. And lastly, they don't want hydroelectric power because it may harm some minnow or something.
