Try your local moving and storage companies Like Atlas Van Lines or United Van Lines Etc.Talk to their Hiring person they are the easiest of all trucking companies to Hire on with. But they are the worst place to work they will use you like a mule in their whorehouse/warehouse but you get paid good and if you are smart you will work your way to trucking while having someone pay you as you go Not Nail you with a student loan before you get started....10/10 Hello Come in....:biggrin_2552:

He's just insulted every OTR Driver with that comment. "This" profession he writes of is "his" profession too. There's so much going on there.

And never 'thanked' anyone on TTR either *shrug*

    mje Thanks this.

Its a legit question because you said it is important. I don't want to see people just jumping in and regretting the time they lost with their family. A lot of drivers don't have that luxury to come home and sacrifice the time away from their family. This isn't always a great place to be when you come down to it, it is a dangerous job and for someone who wants to come home to the wife and kids as much as possible, consider that you may not.

I read all this stuff about how people want to be a truck driver and they have this vision stuck in their mind that they are free to roam the country and make money but look at how many people fail just to get through a year of driving let alone the people who end up being miserable because they are stuck.

No I didn't insult anyone, I am trying to point out that it isn't always fun and games on the road. Just look at these forums and think about how many complain or look for a way out compared to those who are happy. We have this problem with a revolving door, it effects all of us from the rates to safety to the government sticking their nose into the cab, so the more we ask why and make sure people are prepared, the better we are all going to be.

What does "thanking" anyone have to do with anything? I tried to use it but it doesn't seem to work for me on this site.

Yes, I have met some company drivers who have been there 5 years. I still don't know if I want to lease or stay company.

Also, if an individual is caring for aging parents, OTR driving would be practically impossible. I remember the days when I helped my 2 sisters care for our elderly mother before she had passed away back in 2007. Our father had already been deceased for 26 years, since 1981. Our occupations had to be either totally changed or seriously adjusted to fulfill this responsibility. Those were some seriously stressful times.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Trucking isn't hard...it's demanding , but not hard. If a man wants to better himself , then he should know what he is getting into...BigBear60 , Ridgeline wasn't trying to say that you didn't care about your family...he was merely giving you some of the stuff that you really need to hear. Coming from a seasoned veteran of almost 20 years (according to his profile) he knows.... believe me. Great advice often is not what folks want to hear , simply because they want to hear the sugar-coated version...where in all actuality YOU need to hear the stuff he's trying to tell you. Just adding an OLD FART's take on this discussion.

    mje and BigBear60 Thank this.

Oh by the way mr know it all maybe you should focus on actually helping the people that have questions instead of opening your mouth about everyone's comments and hmm no answer on if your a truck driver well about that I believe your probally some high school kid that has nothing better to do but bad mouth every driver on here and for someone that is not a driver you have no right to say what insults us and what does not.. Grow up and go back to your little high school click websites leave this site to real drivers.. Sorry to the other real drivers on here just getting sick of this smart ars thinking he knows everything

white wolf, you do not know me.

I'm an adult woman and I will give as much or as little information as I see fit on this forum.

    Do you understand me?

I will comment as I please, when I please and how I please.

I have nothing to prove to anyone on an Internet forum.

And I do not give a cats nasty a..ss who you are or how you show respect to women.

Your 19 years means nothing to me.

What you said here to day is all I know of you.

    Got it?
