    Willo,

I just wanted to let you know I will be thinking about you Monday. I hope you both pass with flying colors (I know you will have those keys in your hands very soon) Jonny

Thank you, Joetro - right on and I thought what I wrote was plainly obvious in it's intent.

Thank you Jonny1. Did some more back up practice last night and got it in the hole everytime. Also, did perfect straightback into shipper yesterday afternoon...:blob: Feelin' pretty good about it today, even though all I got from trainer was "it's as good as it's gonna get" :smt079 Wasn't sure quite what that meant, but to be honest, I don't even care.

Maybe he just meant that you're skills are good enough or better than good enough to easily pass the test. Regardless, when you actually do the test, make sure and try to keep the same frame of mind when you said you're feeling pretty good about it - stay calm, focused and relaxed and you'll do just fine!

He probably meant that it could not have been done better. By anyone. In other words, perfect.

From what you have posted about this guy, I can see where you would wonder about it, but as you say, why care?

Naaaah, I sure would like to pretend it's so, but no way. Out of at least 6 backs between live trailers, I had to do pull-ups on 2 of them. On ALL 6 of the backings, he jumped on me cause I did this or didn't do that. So, believe me, it wasn't cause it was a good thing.

But, like I said, I don't even care anymore. I guess I have short-timer's attitude. I stopped caring a couple of mornings ago when I was in the sleeper trying to get some rest and what I heard going on in the front was the last straw. At first I heard that familiar snide tone as he was chastising my husband for getting off on the wrong off ramp. Mind you, it was an off and on, no drama involved. Maybe 5 minutes lost, max.

Then, there were issues with the dispatcher on the qualcomm and hubby read them to trainer, trainer made nasty remark about he can't do anything about it while he was driving (he was driving, obviously). I listened for a response from hubby, and I heard one loud and clear in his silence. Can't say what he was thinking on this forum, I'd get kicked out.

Then about 10 minutes later, qualcomm beeps again and wants the same info. Then the poop hits the fan. Trainer goes OFF on hubby. I mean screaming. Hubby just sits there. That broke my heart. The reason hubby has been taking all of this is because I asked him if we could please just get thru this and finish. Otherwise, we would have been standing on the side of the road with our bags a long time ago.

I jumped up and loudly asked him WHO is he yelling at. That shocked him and he said "them". I said "that's what I thought, cause I know you're not yelling at us".

Silence for many hours after that. Hubby later told me that that was his last straw and we were getting off at the receivers and taking a bus back to the terminal. After a long conversation, we decided to stick out the last week.

I don't think I mentioned earlier what part of the problem is....trainer plays up to me, but treats hubby like a dog. Doesn't include him in most conversations, chides me into not waking hubby up to drive, so I'll be up front with him, flurts and jokes with me, but snarles at hubby. Also, lies and tells me crap about hubby when hubby isn't around, like he has a chance in anything holy of trying to come between me and hubby.

Hubby is a big, strong, proud man....I've never, in 16 years known him to take crap from ANYONE. That's part of what makes this so hard. I know this is killing him....and it's hurting my heart to see him sucking this up. But.....again, we chose this path and waited too late to do anything about it, so we're riding it out. I'm just afraid of what will be said the minute he passes his test....I told him I back him 100%.....just don't knock him out cause I'm sure they'd frown on that. :biggrin_255:

That's part of the scenario.....just back ground to make this make a little more sense.

Just hang in there. I'm new myself. I've only had my CDL for 3 months and been solo for just over a month. I wasn't to sure how I'd do with the backing when I went solo either, but have managed to get it done although the first few times took longer for me to get the trailer positioned then they do now. I think as long as you have a general idea of how to get it done you'll do just fine. As far as the shifting, you'll get better as time goes by.
