Wonder if public facilities will have TP, might have to bring my Own. Gives Trip Planning a whole new meaning. Lol. Headed south on Monday, not looking forward to it. I notice hand washing isn’t a big thing, sometimes. A that stuffs for sissies mentality, right up there with drinking through a straw, and cutting a sandwich in half. BYO SOAP and TP.

Silver down from 17.60 to about around 15.45 ish give or take in the last couple of weeks. Gold down from 1850 to around 1670 or so. I have to update on that.
Bitcoin however fell from 8500 to 6010 yesterday in wall street and then fell from 6010 all the way below 4500 in overnight in Asia. So half gone in value in 24 hours.
Marketwatch is no longer reliable for data on markets they have essentially... ghosted their data charts 15 to hour delay and failed to update through the night. I had to get it from other market sources closer to the action overseas.
The problem with the markets is that someone very big must have failed and because of that everyone is screaming fire in a movie theater trying to get out of the exits first. Have been for weeks.
Whats really disgusting to me is Uncle Sam spent 1.5 trillion yesterday afternoon on the DOW stocks and bought maybe 5 minutes of uptick. Once that wore off it crashed over twice the 5 minute gain and kept falling.
To paraphrase I wonder if the arch angel Gabriel pulled out his unlimited charge card and said sell me the entire market. It would be so cheap then.tommymonza Thanks this. -
Oh what the hell... I was on my way to the bank anyway. If I don’t have supplies atleast I have cash. lmao. Heading to Meijer and Walmart now. I told my Mom I’ll bring the cash and you bring the supplies and guns. Reply: Thumbs up.

Is it concerning to anyone that drinking water from the tap isn't safe enough?

The reason is that the 100+ year old aquafier which is about 380 feet to 510 feet of water below our feet is sanding out. The wells are slowly silting over. So the new pipelines are supporting us in water now for the next 100 years. As long they fill Greers Ferry Lake behind the Dam alls well (Its running 3.2 feet above normal as of last week's fishing report.
The bigger problem is that water treatment plant on two acres of land. They bring in a tractor trailer from a chemical company on tuesdays to unload water treatment stuff in bags and so on by the pallets. I think it's Unilever. Plain marked rig. As long they treat the water is good. We recieve annual water report in the paper detailing everything in it.
If we had to, we can attach filters to the tap and start removing everything from the water itself. But the filters in our experience are only temporary, they max out and are no good in less than 3 weeks. But better than nothing.
My body has had a variety of water around the USA and Canada from the tap. Some of it is untreated (As in no flouride etc) and some of it its better to drink whiskey because the very land is poison. Never mind the diuretic effects of alcohol.
We carried about 4 cases of water in the semi, I would estimate that the two of us would go through them in a little over 2 weeks. A bit more if rationed. (That includes everything, clean up after cooking etc.) Sometimes we had as many as 6 cases and thats packing a cabinet temporarily.
Dispatchers sometimes had trouble loading us because wife and me plus our feed, water and stuff was about 1400 pounds over tare at times when full fuel. Thats about 4 weeks food and water and necessary toiletries and so on.
If you want something truly awesome, I point you to Baltimore. Off 33rd and rt 143 we have what is called Druid Hill. There is a lake there. It is there water for the city. Now keep in mind there are lakes around the city in 5 counties that flow to Baltimore with fresh water towards the bay.
We had a water main taller than a man built under Lorraine Ave and northern parkway area fail about a decade ago. That was about a 108 year old main. Usually full of water at pressure for the whole city. They replaced it after chopping out the burst section really fast.
If you want to know that the mains are broken around here in Arkansas there are two ways.
First is a Boil Order sign up at the post office etc. Then there is a complete and absolute wipe out of every single drop of water in local stores down to the tinest bottle. GONE. Poof. Taps at home quit within 30 minutes when the three local water towers empty out. You can on a quiet day hear them gurgle to empty.
Then you will later learn about where they are digging up a street to get at the failed main to replace it takes about 3 days at worse round the clock.Last edited: Mar 13, 2020

This could be a real problem in desert regions where there are no lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds and you'd have to dig your own well. But anywhere else, you just filter creek water through brita and boil it and it should be good for some time, or so I hope.Last edited: Mar 13, 2020

How is it that bottled water is all the rage and tap is no longer good enough. Unless you've got one of them houses where the pipes are caked with calcium over the years.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I can smell a strong chlorine odor in my local water. Notice it in other places as well. Never noticed it until I got used to fresh well water at my old house. Now, I wonder about the drinking water supply. Seems to be extra chlorine in it. Can’t be healthy. Never gave it a thought in the past.
spyder7723 Thanks this.
