It was weird. Couldn't stop smiling. I forgot how cool my favorite toy is!

Sooooooo, Week before Christmas, I get home and done for the year, park truck in driveway, cancel insurance and look forward to being a lazy slob for 2 months.

Hadn't touched truck since except to charge/disconnect batteries, install a new UP steering wheel and pull my mattress out to possibly rebuild it/add foam/re-cover.

Now I need to turn truck around to put trailer right in front of garage for a new project.

Plugged oil pan heater in Friday night. Saturday pan was toasty warm. At dusk I run my pre-luber for a minute until I can hear oil dripping back into the pan from the head, flip on my Fuel Preporator and crank the 8PN over... She fires right up after sitting for 9 weeks. Took literally one second. One reason I love my kitty cat. Oh, she sounded sweet. I forgot how I love the way she purrs.

Air builds, Bendix pops off, push trailer supply to fill trailer, get out raise fwd axle, get back in, Bendix pops again. Flip on rear lights, release brakes, back to the right, pull fwd to the left and swing right to set up next move. Back to the right, watch the garden on the left, see the gravel, garage door, dang I won't even have to do a pullup, I'm so good, in the dark. Alright, set brakes jump out, looks good.

Might as well check all my lights, do a walk around, everything working, turns, brakes, reverse, stand back and admire my forgotten toy... the chrome, the lights, the purr of the Caterpillar... you couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

Yep i agree you get fed up and can't wait to get away from the trk, then you take a break and can't wait to play with the big toy again. Kinda like a kid with their favorite toy it's a beautiful thing.

    A man and his truck.

Just kind of hard to explain if you don't already understand.

And next week a tree will fall out of the sky, right smack on top of your baby.

This usually only happens after the truck and trailer is paid off.

A man's truck becomes such a sweet toy after a few years and lot of tinkering.
Sometimes I prefer to tinker with mine in the garage more than drive it.
