What is the purpose of this counter? It doesnt count my vulgar hand gestures or cussing. The number would be waaay higher. I couldnt have idled over 1,000 hours in the few weeks Ive had the truck. CAM01144.jpg

It may possibly be a total engine hour counter. If so it measure not only idle time , but also any time the motor is runnig.

When does it tick over? When key is on, or when the motor is running?

With the reset button on it , kind of looks like a trip meter.

Resettable engine hours meter. Counts the amount of time that the engine is running, starting from the last time you pushed that button to reset it.

Either a trip meter resettable or a resettable engine hours.

Im inclined to lean towards the trip meter. Because total engine hours is so important there wont be a reset for that.

I put 306 days and nights on a fresh 2001 century with 20 miles on the odo when I picked it up. By the time wife and I got through with it, that engine had approximately 7800 hours on it.

Keep in mind there is 168 hours in the week.

My computer that I built 16 months ago is approaching 10,000 hours 24/7. I don't expect to have to replace the cooling radiator for a few more years yet until it approaches 50,000 hours on the ball bearings.

That GPS is pretty #### accurate.

It would be most interesting to see the results of your comparison, Im going to go ahead and subscribe to this thread.

You are running the tires on that tractor same as the factory size stamp on your door plate right? Even if you are an inch off larger or smaller will throw your Odometer off when you consider it's a few hundred revolutions a mile.
