Get down to the Charlotte area... been to SC, NC, AL, GA and FL recently. Its not difficult to get hometime, as long as there is a shipper/receiver in the area, and we do quite a bit of freight down that way.

I was thinking about joining Prime. I was wondering if they have a high turnover? They said they roll pretty well, even in this economy. Any information would be appreciaed.

I wouldn't say there's an especially high turnover rate here. They bring in new folks on a regular basis, but every larger company is going to be that way...

Drivers have a habit of disqualifying themselves due to tickets, accidents (currently at a historical low for the company on DOT-reportable accidents,) medical issues, etc. Then there's folks who quit, get tired of the biz, decide the grass is greener somewhere else - you name it.

Yeah, more I40. We do get loads running I10 Dallas - SoCal. Shouldn't be a problem for hometime. If there's a WallyWorld DC around, we go there - Casa Grande.

What about Vegas? I've seen them on the I-15 a lot...I'm wondering if I would get any home time at all....

Do they eat in Vegas? That's our primary freight... food. When you want home time, you let your Fleet Manager know about when you want to be there. Hard dates are sometimes difficult to meet, depending on where you live, and always provide them with a couple of weeks notice. They get you a load going near where you need to be, you drop the trailer where they say, and bobtail to the house or wherever.

I've only had one time when there was any question about whether I'd get there or not. Personally, I park the trailer at a good truckstop, and don't worry about it.

The way I read Primes website is that you have to lease a truck. Is this correct or am I interpretting it wrong.

Youre interpretting it wrong. You have the option to go company after youre training or lease.
