My fiance & I are interested in becoming team drivers. Niether of us have any prior experience. We are currently researching different companies trying to decide who we want to train & contract with.
My biggest concern about training is the OTR portion when we have to go OTR with a complete stranger. I am very uncomfortable with this & would like to avoid it if possible. We're hoping to find a company that will pay for our CDL training & allow us to compete our OTR training together. Any suggestions?
Couple seeking to team drive...no prior experience.

Covenant Transport has contracts with some cdl schools and will train the team together.

I dont know. Both of you may be segregated for a time until trainers teach the company way.
FFE put my wife with me and told me to train her. By the FFE book. It was a interesting time. Particularly when your salary is covered running loads that pay three times that value each week.
Training is just one part. You two will be stuck in a walk in closet together for weeks and months potentially. Both of you will learn things about each other during that time.teamkirsch Thanks this. -

A lot of ltl have team positions and you could start out as a local driver.

CR England has a branch just for married drivers. Alas you will still need some miles with a trainer

We've been together for nearly 5 years now. During literally our entire relationship, we have both lived & worked together. We're used to being together 24/7. That's one thing I don't think we'll have any problems with. It's not being together that we're worried about.
We did look at FFE, but they only train TX residents & we currently live in NC. -
