Lol, he got punched out in the yard at the terminal a few weeks before i got off the road and went on dedicated. He saw that a specialized driver who had 20 years with the company had an inverter hooked up, instead of saying something to the driver like a man he went upstairs and snitched him out.
They fired the driver, and don got punched in the face by said driver.
Ofcourse, this is heresay, i never did confirm with anybody from DSM, it does sound fairly likely, though, knowing him. -
Yeah, he's a real class act. I'm just glad he's not on the road anymore.

Hey guys. It's been a while since I've been on here. I drove for 6 months last year for Maverick then have worked the last 6 months locally driving straight tankers in the oilfield industry. We've been hit, like most people, with slow work and low pay so I've been thinking of going back on the road. I've been thinking about TMC, but had a few questions. First, I suspect freight is slow right now coming out of winter but even with a crappy economy will it be picking up now that spring has sprung? Also, I have heard in the past that TMC requires 5 loads delivered each week, is that true? I know from my experience with Mav that that is difficult sometimes.

One (George in this case) of the two complete morons who run the classroom portion of orientation tells everyone they should be able to haul 5 loads a week, of course this is entirely impractical and not possible given the way freight is dispatched (the slow freight plays into this a lot). Who wants to be dispatched 5 loads a week anyhow? Wouldn't you rather have a couple of good long loads? So yeah, they say you should but I don't know anyone who does aside from maybe the dedicated account drivers.

Thanks for the advice guys. I reckon I'll give it some more time before I decide, maybe frieght will pick back up in the next few months. If it does I will more than likely go on the road somewhere. I am grateful to even have a job, but where I work makes us drive illegally all the time. I'm talking real bad. We'll go to a job and work it 15-20 hrs go home at 2am then have to be back in at 5am and finish up. No one says anything to the bosses cause they threaten people all the time that they can be sent home and be replaced. I know I've fixed my logs on the road but nothing like this. You all take care and be safe. I'll be checking back here from time to time to see how the industry is doing. Thanks.

As some of you know I am retireing from the US Navy in about a year and a half. I currently live in NC, but plan on moving to MS after I retire. I want to try and complete orientation and OTR training while I am still grtting a FULL chck from the Navy. I was planning on moving and getting my CDL in MS, but the wife don't want me to do that now(her and the kids will finish the school year before moving) My questions are
1. Will they give me a week or so off to move, change liscence, etc...(won't be there long enough for vacation)
2. where could I leave the truck during this time
3. If i was to go ahead and move would they let me take home time here till the move
4. i'm sure i'll think of something else later
