They took advantage of you. Any work in the same town you negotiate extra pay. If nothing else they qualify for drop/hook pay. I would say an extra $50 I'll do it. Stand up when they try to beat you. This ain't the Red Cross.

i firmly believe in being paid for all time and work performedInfosaur Thanks this. -
when i worked at roadway every time you touched the dolly handle you got 1/4 hour pay ...big box drop and hook 1/2 hour pay ....set of pups d+h 2 drops 2 hooks paid an hour .... any detention time after 10 minutes you get payed
with todays map programs like google or mapquest (pro miles would be best) there is no reason not to be paid door to door miles .....and those should be the billable miles as well
but everybody hates unions......and everybody works for lessFreebird135 Thanks this. -
One time I got to customer about 6 hours early and set my alarm clock. Actually at a truck stop on the other side of the interstate. I forgot I crossed a time zone as it was just a few miles away. Night dispatch wakes me up about 10 minutes till and asks why I haven't arrived yet. zzzzzzzz, I said don't worry, I still have an hour, lol. After they corrected me I had no choice but haul arse. I made it with 1 minute to spare. Whew! Too close.
Yeah, I believe a driver deserves pay for actual work. There's too much penny pinching on a drivers paycheck. But when you are exempt from many DOL rules, what can you do? The gov't needs to step in and rework all the rules.
I wonder what happened to this case? -

Yesterday, the US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee formally approved (i.e., "certified") a class action suit brought by former Swift truck driving students against Swift Transportation related to Swift's improper CDL testing.
