    In real nasty weather I fuel up when the tanks drop to half full. If you must park in nasty weather and not sure how long you may have to sit, it's comforting to know you have full fuel tanks. And it even better if you also have an Apu.

    I agree check where I work only 2 of is drivers showed up and we both have the longest and roughest commute of everybody

    Ha, well, I spoke too soon. I got a call this morning from who else but FreyMiller.

    So here is the scoop with them,

    During slow months, 10,000miles a month. So when I read that they 'run hard' for long distances, that must be true.

    Training is 6-8 weeks. Training pay is 450 a week.

    Pay is 33cpm, with 4cents possible bonus. (yes a bit low, but lot of miles)

    Trucks are Peterbilts

    150 Orientation pay
    Training in Oklahoma
    Take the truck home.

    There ARE APU's

    There is no forced dispatch.


    The only thing that has me a bit worried......the insurance cost for me and my family would be 200 a week (medical, vision, Dental) 800 a month, yikes!

    Anyone looked into paying for their own insurance? I wonder if it would be less money to find my own insurance

    It maybe less to look at insurance urself so are you going with Frey Miller

    I am really looking towards Frey. They have really good reviews.

    Lot of plusses, it's not a mega carrier. They run more miles on average. I don't have to take a bus out there, I'll have a plane ticket. APU's! APU'S APU'S-- I can't say that enough. That's huge. I've read up on swift and they don't like you idleing your truck and they dont have APU's on trucks. Idle too much = get fired. To me, that's just silly. I read that they have some sort of heater you can run without idleing. But what about when it's a 100 degrees outside and I'm trying to sleep?

    I have read quite a few posts about people idling there truck whenever they want. Sure they might get a random QC msg about it but nobody that I have read about that idles there truck whenever they want has been fired from it. Not saying it's never happened but I haven't read anything about that.

    Forget that weekly insurance these companies have. Some months have 5 settlements!

    Buy insurance elsewhere.
