So instead of getting paid detention you’d rather get that time back so you can work longer for less pay? Or am I not reading that correctly?

I can imagine the punitive regulations that Congress, with the general publics blessing, would bring down on the trucking industry if there was a strike at this time. Things that some legislators and feds already have on the drawing board would hit us in spades.
Never forget, it was Congress that forced the FMCSA to require ELDs.

Unfortunately, the time to really fight these issues was about 10-15 yrs ago. When the DEF system began making its way into the industry, that killed the trucks. And when they introduced ELD to the industry that was the beginning of killing off the drivers. Soon after was automatic Trans, and they can’t wait to remove you from the seat. Be a lot less headaches once your gone. Sure, they’ll need LTL short haul guys, but there will be plenty of steering wheel holders laying around.

It is used as an insult for people born between ~1942 and 1964.

Millennials other generations say it and sometimes they hope boomers die because how we screwed up the country.

Its also used as a shortcut to cut off any further conversation in which the younger is not well equipped to handle. Which is not surprising considering how messed up the Education System had become in the last 30 years or so.

The bigger loss is lack of communication. Ok Boomer followed by Ok Snowflake means we are not going to accomplish anything today.

We used to sort who got the parking spot by oldest Class A on the property. I recall one who said 1957. He got the spot. There was 4 of us and we went elsewhere to find a spot. I ended up driving off logs for two more states until I found a spot.

Sorry you stop reading at that point as a Christian my Faith is what keeps me on the road. I respect everyone's views but in a time like this especially where Truck drivers are faced with a number of high risk accidents and some don't even make it home. I have been faced with many unreal circumstances myself where I could've lost my life in this profession. I have to keep my sanity and my faith which does is it for me. Your empowerment might be in the form of something else, however, this post is not about religion.
