It wasn't NPR who said Obama was born in Kenya and there were no Russians in Trump Tower and Ted Cruz's dad shot JFK and thousands of Americans were shown on TV cheering 9/11 and the noise from windmills causes cancer and the virus will disappear like magic in the spring and they stole the election and the California wildfires were started by a giant space laser and the Texas natural gas lines froze because of windmills.

This same kind of thing happens when some group decides that a company or corporation is doing the world wrong. In the past it has been discovered that many thousands of emails to the companies originate from just a handful of skilled folks. The problem is that it takes time to discover the origins, and in the meantime the company goes into panic mode.

Fake news. Some people have this thing called integrity, and some of those also have an agenda of finding and disseminating reality.

Sometimes companies and corporations DO do the world wrong. And yes, there's campaigns which allow signers-on to sign their name to a form letter. But that doesn't make the form letter untrue. So calling it "the same kind of thing" is misleading at best.

Only in the eyes of people who hate it. o_O

In fact spreading disinformation is even more old fashioned. Comparatively speaking, adhering to facts is a fairly recent invention. :p

I did but not right away. That why I edited to lighten the tone. Am a tad slow on the uptake sometimes.

So you don't think we need to investigate the origins of the virus? How can you tell accurate info from disinformation if you don't even know the origins of the virus? So you want your doctor to treat the symptoms of the disease without him knowing underlying problems leading to the disease?

This man has done lots to counter the lies and propaganda of a lot of things (primarily climate change denial). It's worth a watch to see how easy it is to twist truth into lies.
