I have a cpap and just had my company install a 1500w inverter for me to use. My question is do I need to leave the truck running all night or can my batteries make it through the night?

You dont need to idle. The c pap doesnt use much power.

I have a ResMed and got the 12v plug for it. They don't use much power even less if you don't run humidifier. My current truck have extra battery for electric APU.

Believe it or not, I run mine off a 200 watt Cobra inverter that runs off the cigarette lighter plug! They use very little power!

Hopefully your truck doesn't start and stop during the night to run the AC and charge the batteries. Mine did, and when the motor cranked it shut off power and my cpap would turn off. My company addressed this for their cpap drivers by installing a separate deep cycle battery and inverter under the bunk that would recharge during the day.

Not sure about your system, but on mine I can show compliance on the machine itself. I would take the machine into the DOT physician and say "see, I use the ###### thing."
