You also may need a BIPAP, that a cpap with two different pressure setting. Remember with CPAP they are using air pressure to keep a person's airway open. The higher the air pressure the more difficult it makes if for the body to push the air out of lung because you now pushing against the air from the CPAP also.

That were a BIPAP come in. It has a lower pressure setting for breathing out. So that makes it more comfortable and more natural.

This is something a sleep lab can see because they go by when someone is actually in REM sleep and they can what's going on. A regular CPAP in automatic mode should be able to adjust to most people. If that can lower the AHI number or help get a good restful night sleep and you face mask is not leaking so much air the CPAP still can't lower your AHI number. Maybe a BiPap or Bi-Lo capap is needed. That's why knowing what your AHI number s is very helpful so you have some idea what going on from sleeping at night.

Also I believe all CPAP or at least ResMed and Resperonics have setting to lower the air pressure a little when breathing out.

ResMed calls it EPR Expiratory Pressure Relief. It's lowers the air pressure and makes it more comfortable to breath out. That's on a regular CPAP.

I pretty much quit red meat years ago, but that is simply because I don't like it. Wish I'd quit eating sugar also. Too late now, I'm on the downhill slide.

You WISH you had re-enlisted now, don't you? When my youngest son was in elementary and kindergarten in China, the first time I went to pick him up after school, I asked the wife why so many high school girls were there. Don't they get on the bus at their own school? She said, they're not high school girls, they're parents and grandparents.
One woman was arrested for prostitution in a massage parlor there. What got the police attention was the line of men from inside the parlor and out on the sidewalk. She is so beautiful the men worship her. She was posing as a 22 yr. old college student. Actually, shes a 52 yr. old grandmother with 2 grown children of her own.
    Well, back to CPAP Machine!

I would post a picture of my Korean wife, but I won't. She's ALL MINE. She's 60 and every bit as beautiful as when she was in her 20's.

    Back. Away. From. The. Sugar.

Here's some other simple ways to improve your health through diet:

If it has any ingredients you can't pronounce, don't buy it. Ideally it should have one "ingredient". Then you know you are buying and eating actual food.

It took me a couple of years to transition my diet, most of that happened within a few months. YOUR SENSE OF TASTE WILL CHANGE. Now I can't stand anything sweet. I can now TASTE a much broader number of things.

Eat on the thirds principle. About one third of your calorie intake should be protein, fat, and carbohydrates respectively.

Eat raw whenever possible. Cooking breaks down and simplifies the building blocks of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The more complex your intake the more energy, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes you get.

Feed your microbiome. You have 10x more bacteria in your gut than you have cells in your body. They are crucial to your health, you should have at least 3000 different species. They represent about 80% of your immune system, digest and break down your food, affect your mood, and will even alter your DNA during your lifetime. Eat probiotics. Nurture them. You are eating for trillions.

I've seen info from experienced drivers using CPAP going to Prime. Prime tells them they have to replace their older CPAP to a newer one that monitors and records usage. Then they have to use the new machine until a suitable record is generated.

If you left a crack like that at the end of the last post in which you allegedly offered this advice, that might explain why it was ignored.

If my circumstances had been much different, OH YES!!

I was active duty in the U.S. Navy for 8 years, (1984 - 1992), first 3 years on the west coast, (San Diego), 2 years in Mississippi, last 3 years on the east coast, (Charleston SC).

When I left the U.S. Navy, it was a humanitarian hardship discharge under honorable conditions, due to a very serious Red Cross message concerning very serious situations back home.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
