Sarcasm is good. Most posts on most threads here contain much sarcasm as it wouldn't be the industry it is without it. If we can't smile at all the BS in this industry then its time to change careers

By the time you have enough experience to qualify for a L/P at one of the training companies you can jump ship and should be able to land something in the 50CPM range. 40CPM to lease and run a truck is not really possible.
I have posted numbers on this website before that correspond to the cost of the typical fleace. If you have better ones please post them. Overall when I review anyones fleacing numbers you find a lot of missing costs and very optimistic mileage and fuel mileage numbers and yet there are still costs not accounted for. -

i think the only reason that makes sense to some doing a l/o is that they get a brand new truck for x amount of time, and maybe not having any breakdown issues..????

More reasons for becoming an Independent Contractor:
1. More, significantly more, net income. (note: as long as your truck is running OK)
2. No forced dispatch.
3. Load selection.
4. Corporate discounts on fuel, tires, insurance, bookkeeping services, tolls and fees. Dispatch service. Factoring service. (paid weekly most cases whether customers have paid yet or not)
5. Road service support.
6. Profitable loads from company. Some say I/O are more profitable, so dispatch on better trips.
Other than these, I can't think of anything right now. Of course, none of these items reflects a leased truck. There may be tax benefits to a lease, since there are several types to choose from, and there's a way to deduct the whole lease cost, I have been told. J -
Even Swift, a company that doesn't pay big dollars for beginning drivers, pays $.36, I think I saw in here somewhere. I like to recommend Conway Truckload, since they've been good for me.

Earl Henderson trucking pays .38 cpm for new drivers.
